Name: Moonshine
Gender: F
Sexuality: Straight; although currently, boys have cooties and are GROSS!! eewwwwwwweeeeeee
Hometown: Canterlot
Will end up living: Wherever the moon takes her.... (Code for she has no idea.)
Family: Mother: Gossamer Silk | Father: Razor Edge | Siblings: (older brother) Assyrian, (younger sister) Lunar Silk
Looks: Filly:
Adult:
Dragon:
Personality: Moonshine is a very accepting and easy going young filly. Something of an introvert, it is a bit of a challenge to get her talking but once she gains some familiarity with your company she is quick to encourage conversation. An avid reader, she has more than once been called a bookworm. Of course she doesn't take offense to this, rather, she recognizes the honesty in the term and has learned to shrug it off when ponies call her such things in a demeaning tone. Unlike most unicorns, Moonshine lacks the elitist mentality making her a bit of a "softy" in the eyes of other ponies, especially her father and older brother. She understands the animosity between the different pony races, however, she fails to see the point in such adamant racism. Of course, being the clever young filly she is, she is smart enough to keep her opinions to herself and in the presence of other pony folk most generally keeps her mouth shut.
She bears no strong attachment to her siblings, though that isn't to say she doesn't love them dearly. Moonshine has always felt like a bit of an outcast among her blood, due to her easy going nature and lack of need to place herself above other ponies simply due to the horn on her head. Even so, no one can deny that she is a particularly talented young unicorn. Her parents often boast of her abilities, though their pride heavily outweighs her own. Moonshine practices her magic simply for the enjoyment of the task rather than to prove any sort of elite entitlement that her parents try to thrust upon her. In all honesty, she would rather spend her time with a good book of spells, and an empty afternoon to practice her abilities.
As her name would suggest, Moonshine bears a strong attachment to the moon and its phases. Her moods will often coincide with the waxing and waning of the lunar cycle with her becoming more active and generally happy when the moon is at its fullest, but seeming depressed and lethargic when the new moon forms. Though her abilities do not share this conjecture with the moon's phases, she rarely uses her magic when the moon is dark and instead mourns its absence like the loss of a friend.
Likes and Dislikes: + Reading, + Magic, + Night time, + Nature, + Her dragon pet (assistant), + School, and honing her abilities | - The elitist nature of most unicorns, - When the moon is at its smallest, - Being alone/Feeling alone, - Being judged for her more accepting nature
Special Ability: To coincide with her bookwormish nature, Moonshine has every intention of owning a bookstore in the future. Her future cutie mark will be a pattern of the moon which will wax and wane with the different phases of the moon.
When she becomes an adult, Moonshine will be able to spell cups to refill with whatever liquid she desires once emptied. Due to her close relationship with the moon, she will also be able to manipulate moonlight to take specific shapes and forms at her will.
History: Moonshine was born the second child to Gossamer Silk and Razor Edge, two noteable ponies who resided in Canterlot. Gossamer silk was a well known fashion designer, famous for her enchanted fabrics which seemed to glow and shimmer with the light of the moon. Razor Edge was a well respected member of the Royal Guard. While her father was always a bit more serious and reserved in his nature, her mother was a gentle spirit and sought to uplift the unicorn ponies with her elegant designs. Though their personalities should have clashed in any other world, they fit together in a sort of way and where Gossamer softened and gentled Razor's more gruff exterior, he toughened and strengthened his beloved wife to make her an indomitable force in the fashion world. Together, they would raise a son - Assyrian - who would follow in his father's footsteps and begin training to become a palace guard, Moonshine, and her younger sister Lunar Silk who seems prepared to follow in her mother's footsteps.
Moonshine quickly began to show her skill in a different sect of ability, though, one which didn't follow immediately in the line fashion or the work of protection. She read enthusiastically, and in her readings discovered many different spells and enchantments which she found came easily to her. Magic, it seemed, was to be her forte. As such, her parents enthusiastically enrolled her into Canterlot's School for Gifted Unicorns, where she would be able to train her abilities further.
