Respond to this post if you want to try your hoof at any of these beauties!
Welcome to the Amethyst family’s adoptables page. All this madness starts with and is organized according to one pony and that is Sir Amethyst-the one who brings them all together in this whacky wheel of misfortune and corruption. To adopt any of the other ponies listed here, you should read his bio first, or at least as well as the pony you may be interested in. Each pony is listed in the order that Sir Amethyst met them. Inside the spoilers are the full body picture and their role in Sir Amethyst’s life. How you make them interpret the events or their personalities, goals, futures, are all up to the adopter.
Sir Amethyst
Violet Rose
Violet Rose descends from the Rose family, not quite as high as the Amethyst or other gem families, but they are still a very high-ranking family of nobility. Violet Rose was arranged to be wed to Sir Amethyst since they were very young, and looked forward to the day ever since it was explained to her and her sister what was going to happen to her. When they were wed, at least in the beginning, all was perfect. Violet Rose gave birth to Amethyst Wing with no complications and she and Sir Amethyst were beyond thrilled. But complications did arise when she noticed Sir Amethyst was no longer satisfied with their humble (for ponies in their position) life.
He wanted more, and he wanted the Amethyst family to dominate the council in the next generation. He began ranting about he needed more power to accomplish his goals, his dreams, and one day, take his rightful place at the head of the council instead of Sapphire Gems. Violet Rose, now with her second foal, decided she should divorce Sir Amethyst after one evening he came home and began whispering political notions to the unborn foal, even when she told him to stop. This decision was finalized and the two were separated for a few years, and life was liberating, but very tough for Violet Rose, especially with her sister coming of age where she would leave to marry her arranged husband, leaving her all alone to take care of her parents and her two young foals.
The rumor mill went crazy with stories, whispering tails of Sir Amethyst’s newfound promiscuity and earth-pony lover. Violet Rose was so angry; she stormed the castle with her younger sister, Rose Gold loyally by her side, and ordered for Sir Amethyst to explain himself. An earth-pony! How could he stoop so low and tarnish both of their names! Of course, he denied the rumors and Violet Rose left him for good, taking thousands of bits in compensation. She was finally done with that stallion, and that’s all she cared about. She even considered changing her two beautiful fillies’ names away from Amethyst, that is until, Rose Gold was entered into a new arrangement-she was now to stay close to home and marry Sir Amethyst.
Heart break set in, and rage, much rage and deep seeded feelings of betrayal and disbelief. Violet Rose begged her parents not to let Rose Gold into the world she was trying so hard to forget, and it only broke her heart more when Rose Gold was actually excited to be getting married. However, Violet Rose knew, conceded, and accepted this was her ticket back into high society, and at least this way she could always keep Rose Gold close.
The worst part of it all is Sir Amethyst invited Violet Rose and her children to join him and Rose Gold in his giant mansion. Currently that is where Violet Rose, Amethyst Wing, and Amethyst Rose, whom she now proudly parades as Amethysts, all reside. Violet Rose longs for the day she and her children can latch onto some other pony and leave the life of pain, especially since now she and Rose Gold have begun drifting apart as Sir Amethyst fills her naïve head with political nonsense, and has even begun to turn Rose Gold against her older sister.
OOC: She is older than both her sister, Rose Gold, and Sapphire Berri, so she probably doesn't have many foals left in her should she remarry (or put out haha).
Amethyst Wing
Amethyst Wing, named for the fact Violet Rose wanted her to outshine the other unicorn foals as if she really did have wings, and outshine them she did. Not only was Amethyst Wing absolutely beautiful, smart, and tactful for such a unicorn, she was also gifted with great magical abilities. For the first half of her life, she was praised as the next brilliant head of the family, and believed it with all of her heart. She was even willing to share the glory with her new sibling named Amethyst Rose.
Her life was devastated when Violet Rose and Sir Amethyst filed for divorce; it meant she could no longer take the position as head of the Amethyst family. Now she needed to find a new path, and finding one was hard when your living situation is unstable, as is everyone else around you. Eventually it led to Amethyst Wing using her beauty and wits to manipulate others into doing what she wanted. Eventually Amethyst Rose, who actually got her cutie mark first, pointed the fact that she uses her looks for deception out to her, and as soon as she realized it, butterflies appeared on her flank. That was the day she accepted life was cruel, and she’d never let herself fall as far as her mother, who had now moved them back into their childhood mansion.
Amethyst Wing and her precious sister Amethyst Rose are now eternally locked in a cousin rivalry for the Amethyst head of the family position with their Aunt Rose Gold’s new foals, especially as they are now old enough to be sentient. Amethyst Wing, however, has no problem manipulating them into getting into trouble and making themselves look bad in front of their father and mother.
OOC: If playby, I imagined a neutral neutral/evil Scar from Lion King on the manipulation matter. Her personality can be altered to fit the adopter’s needs. She is also notably weaker, or unskilled at all in magic that her sister is due to her being focused in elegant, matronly, and Mare(lady)-like magics and etiquette.
Amethyst Rose
Ignored for the most part, Amethyst Rose is actually even more adept at complex magical spells than her older sister Amethyst Wing. While she was busy with formal and “Mare-like” magic, Amethyst Rose was free to practice and pursue the magic she wanted, which happened to be pretty malicious at times; spells that enabled her to use weapons and the like, in order to vent her jealousy at her gorgeous sister getting all the attention.
Now that Sir Amethyst has realized that Amethyst Wing’s magical abilities aren’t up to his standards, he has begun to look the way of Amethyst Rose, and has promised her that if he had to pick between the two siblings, he would take her over her older sister any day-a promise which is very true because of her skills. However, Sir Amethyst has been taking her aside and helping to hone her skills, he says he has use of her.
OOC: Sir Amethyst is training her to become an assassin, for when he needs members of the council picked off. This is not required but he is training her magic in dark ways.
Sapphire Berri
Kind, Carefree, loving, are all used to describe this pony. Sapphire Berri descends from a very ancient unicorn lineage, the Sapphire Lineage. Now Sapphire is used by many ponies because of its beauty, but a long time ago, back when the ancestors of modern day unicorns existed, there was the Sapphire clan. The Sapphire clan was revered by many, mainly because not only did their young’s raw magical abilities far outshine any other unicorn clan’s, but also they were just simply able to perform magic that most of the other clans could not.
Eventually the clan was crushed by jealous enemies way back when, and the few survivors ran to earth pony country and the unicorn bloodlines thinned and eventually died from the sapphire lineage. Only the descendants of the clan and important members of unicorn society (if even them) know about the history of the Sapphire clan. It wasn’t until a few years back that Sapphire Berri, who keeps the Sapphire namesake for her clan (gets away with it because of her sapphire colored eyes; the ancient clan’s reason for their namesake) but the berry name from the more recent earth pony heritage, met with Sir Amethyst, a regal and powerful unicorn who had just gotten out of a marriage. Being the kind pony she was, she offered to keep his company during his time of trouble.
One day, while Sir Amethyst had escaped into the earth pony country, Sapphire Berri served him a special blue strawberry-one that could withstand freezing temperatures and yet still taste just as good as the red ones-a Sapphire effect on these rare berries. Sir Amethyst almost immediately recognized her as a descendant, and the seeds of romance blossomed; Sapphire Berri because someone knew of her ancestor’s plight, and Sir Amethyst because he had met the unicorn of unicorns in such a sweet kind mare. Shortly after, Sapphire Berri had some heavy news to tell her new taboo lover; she was with foal.
The happiest day of Sapphire Berri’s life came after what felt like a lifetime of waiting, a precious unicorn foal was born-something that hadn’t happened to a Sapphire clan descendent in oodles of generations. Upset Sir Amethyst wasn’t present for the birthing, Sapphire Berri couldn’t decide on what to name her new foal, and unexpectedly Sir Amethyst frantically knocked on the door, apologizing profusely for not being there. Pride seemed to swell within both of them, and Sir Amethyst suggested “Sapphire Amethyst” a name well accepted by both, a name to show off their heritage and seed of their romance.
Sapphire Amethyst was an incredible foal, able to do things ponies years older than her couldn’t, and she was well-loved by her parents. It wasn’t before long Sapphire Berri was pregnant again. However when this foal was born as an earth pony, Sir Amethyst was not happy in the slightest while Sapphire Berri was elated. A fight ensued when Sapphire Berri wanted to name the foal Amethyst Sun, and Sir Amethyst refused to have another bastard born to his name; a quote that shattered Sapphire Berri’s image of him and threw the harsh reality of their forbidden romance in her face.
After Sir Amethyst stormed out that night, Sapphire Berri did not see Sir Amethyst ever again except in passing or on the unicorn news. For her second foal she decided to keep the sapphire name, but she went with something simple and much more akin to an earth pony. It was her futile attempt at giving one of her children a better life than the sick twisted life of a unicorn. Sapphire Sunset was the name she settled on. Life was tough explaining how a well-respected, reputable, and admired earth pony came by having a unicorn foal; genetics can do weird and great things, but not that weird.
OOC: She is still very young. So it's very likely she would remarry and it is still possible for her to have more foals. She's like late twenties early thirties in human years.
Sapphire Amethyst
Protect her sister and mother, that's her goal anyway. Sir Amethyst desires Sapphire Amethyst for her rare Sapphire Clan inherited abilities. She is very powerful, if not more so than his other children. Because of this, Sir Amethyst visits her or writes her often, begging for her to join him at his mansion and take over the family business because she is so powerful. But because he will not allow her earth-pony sister to live in his mansion, Sapphire Amethyst refuses to go. She is often looked at as the product of a grotesque mixing of the races, and is often yelled at or shunned due to her unicorn/earth-pony heritage.
Sapphire Splash
Innocent, shy, kind, are just a few words to describe Sapphire Splash. Named for her love of puddles, Sapphire Splash knows nothing of her sister or mother's tribulations, because she is still very young.
Rose Gold
Rose Gold descends from the Rose family, not quite as high as the Amethyst or other gem families, but they are still a very high-ranking family of nobility. Rose Gold was beyond envious when explained that Violet Rose was already being arranged into a marriage with some young dream pony. She wished desperately that somehow she’d magically become older than Violet Rose, and get to be the eldest daughter that gets arranged into marriages. Nobody ever expected much from the second daughter. Eventually, Rose Gold began attention seeking in any way she could, trying to get her parents to notice her waiting in her sister’s shadow.
It was a few years before Rose Gold saw Violet Rose in more than passing. When Violet Rose divorced and returned home, the sisters grew closer than ever. Rose Gold also became quite fond of Violet Rose’s young fillies and it only fueled her dream for some foals of her own.
Finally the day came, Rose Gold was pulled aside and announced that she would be wed. Finally! Finally she had her purpose in life. But it came as a cruel shock when they found some random pony with even less status and wealth than them. Plus, when she met him, he was boisterous and rude, ugly and interested in Rose Gold only as an object. Now it was the opposite, Rose Gold begged and begged to get out of the arrangement, and finally one day, a few years after her dear sister’s divorce, Sir Amethyst decided he would have Rose Gold instead. Rose Gold, accepting it was her previous arrangement, caved quickly-accepting the fact she could at least see Violet Rose and not her prior engagement.
She felt bad until she forgot the reason why she broke it off with her previous arrangement, because she never told Violet Rose, letting her assume it was because he was too far away-mostly because she was ashamed her parents treated her like garbage in that aspect, especially after holding out so long to find the perfect one for Violet Rose. Now it was her turn to face the stallion and commit the “I do’s” and she eventually even convinced him to let Violet Rose and her offspring to stay in the westward wing.
Soon after she realized how smart Sir Amethyst was, and how he knew so much about politics, and she liked the idea of him even filling the next generation of council members with the Amethyst line. Quickly she gave birth to identical twins, the Amethyst prefix for both were decided by him, and the suffixes, Frost and Swirl, decided by her. It been awhile since then, and proudly Rose Gold stands beside her new husband, but she always does what she can for her older sister, even if, Violet Rose doesn’t understand her true feelings towards her.
OOC: She is still very young, if you wish for her to be with foal when you adopt her, either gender, please go ahead. Just remember Sir Amethyst will want it in his family name "Amethyst".
Amethyst Frost
Amethyst Frost has an uncanny ability to mess with cold. She loves any and all things winter, and it's often reflected in her cold personality.
Amethyst Swirl
Amethyst Swirl is also still a baby, being twins with Amethyst Frost. She is very calm and gentle.
